Fall has fallen away and winter is finally here this week. The chill is in the air and most of the leaves in that picture above are now in piles along the road instead of on the trees. I’m happy to have winter here (I like my seasons and Thanksgiving was unseasonably warm and therefore not at all Thanksgiving-like). The elf was on the front door last night with a little stuffed Christmas bear ornament that was left over from a previous year. My daughter was smitten. Her babysitter showed her the Elf on the Shelf movie last night and she is fully fascinated now. Tonight the elf is enjoying an apple juice box on the dining room table and has brought us all candy sticks! I will try to get a picture, but I may fail. I feel the need to go to bed. I woke up very early this morning and am now exhausted. I had a relatively productive day today, but I’m still falling further and further behind on my behemoth of a to-do list. But, my hubby is taking my daughter to my in-laws on Friday and not coming back until Monday, which gives me some time to be productive. It is not as good as it sounds because I have a two-hour book club meeting (for which I need to read) on Friday, then an all-day event at work on Saturday – 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. … although for much of that time, I can be doing grading, paperwork, etc. if I really focus on it. I just get easily distracted and end up sitting around chatting people up instead. I will try to focus on productivity though. Sunday I have church and Monday it is back to work and our team holiday party that night, so I’ll need to do a bit of prep for that. But, not having a four year old all weekend should give me some decent time to get things done unencumbered!
So, that’s it for today. I have met my EvDaDaDec commitment for another day! 🙂
